King County Elections needs English to Chinese translation service providers

King County Elections is hiring translation service providers to translate election materials including the local voters’ pamphlets. A translation corps of 25 translators will be needed to work for 15-consecutive-day segments from July to October.

Applicants will be evaluated and qualified based on their ability to meet mandatory requirements which include: ownership and operation of hardware and software, education, the availability to work during the specified time period, and a thorough understanding of local government and the U.S. election processes. Superior English to Chinese translation skills are essential.

A Request for Qualifications (RFQ) will be published the week of June 19th in community papers throughout King County. Qualified people interested in becoming part of King County Elections’ translation corps, should call King County Elections Minority Language Assistance Program at 206-296-1544 or e-mail translations@kingcounty.gov for more information.

RFQ materials are also available electronically upon request to translations@kingcounty.gov.
