![]() Jan. 18, 2006 Registration deadline fast approaching If you live in one of the many school districts participating in the upcoming February 7 special election and haven’t registered to vote, King County Elections is extending its office hours to register voters. The King County Elections office in downtown Seattle will be open Saturday, Jan. 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to accommodate new registration applicants. Monday, January 23 is the last day to register to vote in person at the King County Elections office.
In addition to the extended Saturday office hours, King County Elections is offering in-person voter registration this weekend at Bellevue Square from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 21 and Sunday, January 22. The registration booth will be located on the second floor of Bellevue Square between Aveda and Johnston & Murphy stores. Thirty ballot measures are on the ballot in the February special election. Voters will determine the outcome of levy and bond measures in 14 school districts throughout King County. Voters on Vashon Island will vote on a proposal to form a new hospital district including electing commissioners to govern the district if approved. Only voters who live in areas of the county with issues on the ballot can cast a ballot for the February 7 special election.
