Schedule of Canvassing Board Meetings

Sep. 20, 2005 General and Special Elections

To meet the statutory requirements regarding the canvassing of election ballots and to accommodate members’ schedules as much as possible, the following meetings of the Canvassing Board are:

9:00 a.m.

Friday

August 19, 2005

Initial Meeting: Adoption of Canvassing Board Administrative Rules, delegation of authority, review of canvassing board meeting schedule.

2:00 pm

Tuesday

Sept. 13, 2005

Pre-Election Meeting: Resolve any ballots and issues of voters’ intention requiring Board’s determination.

10:00 a.m.

Monday

Sept. 19, 2005

Pre-Election Meeting: Resolve any ballots and issues of voters’ intention requiring Board’s determination.

2:00 p.m.

Thursday

Sept. 22, 2005

Post-Election Meeting : Review preliminary abstract of votes. Resolve any ballots and issues of voters’ intention requiring Board’s determination. Consider voter registration challenges submitted within thirty-day period prior to the election and issues of voters’ intent.

2:00 p.m.

Tuesday

Sept. 27, 2005

Post-Election Meeting: Resolve any ballots and issues of voters’ intention requiring Board’s determination.

3:30 p.m.

Wednesday

Sept. 28, 2005

Follow-up meeting to resolve any ballots and issues of voters’ intention requiring Board’s determination.

2:00 p.m.

Thursday

Sept. 29, 2005

 

Post-Election Meeting : Complete the canvassing process, review the Director’s Abstract of Votes for validity, and direct preparation of election certificate.

 

11:00 a.m.

Friday

Sept. 30, 2005

Post-Election Meeting : Complete the canvassing process, review the Director’s Abstract of Votes for validity, and direct preparation of election certificate.

2:00 p.m.

Friday

Sept. 30, 2005

Certification Meeting : Approve corrective action for discrepancies or errors resulting from abstract review.

 

5:30 p.m. Friday Sept. 30, 2005 Canvassing Board reconvenes to certify final election results

 

Meetings will be held in the Records, Elections and Licensing Services Director’s office, Room 553, King County Administration Building , unless otherwise advised.

The Logic and Accuracy Test for the September 20, 2005 Primary will be held on September 16, 2005 at our Mail Ballot Operation Satellite located at 3901 1 st Ave. S. Seattle , WA at 1:30 p.m.
