Schedule of Canvassing Board Meetings

Nov. 8, 2005 General and Special Elections

To meet the statutory requirements regarding the canvassing of election ballots and to accommodate members’ schedules as much as possible, the following meetings of the Canvassing Board are:

1:30 p.m.

Tuesday

Oct. 25, 2005

Convening Meeting : Review canvassing procedures as necessary, provide instructions regarding absentee ballots. Commence processing mail or absentee ballots received.

2 p.m.

Thursday

Nov. 3, 2005

Pre-Election Meeting : Resolve any ballots and issues of voter intent requiring Board’s determination.

2 p.m.

Thursday

Nov. 10, 2005

First Post-Election Meeting : Review preliminary abstract of votes. Resolve any special-case ballots and issues of voter intent requiring Board’s determination. Consider voter registration challenges submitted within thirty-day period prior to the election.

Second Post-Election Meeting : Review provisional ballots and any special-case mail ballots received subsequent to the election. Make determination regarding issues of voter intent. **See bottom of page

Final Post-Election Meeting : Complete the canvassing process, review the Director’s Abstract of Votes for validity, and direct preparation of election certificate. **See bottom of page

Certification Meeting : Approve corrective action for discrepancies or errors resulting from abstract review, if any. Sign the certificate. **See bottom of page

The Logic and Accuracy Test for the November 8, 2005 General and Special Elections will be held on Friday, November 4, 2005, at 1:30 p.m. at our Mail Ballot Operations Satellite located at 3901 First Avenue South Seattle, WA.
