It's time for a change in leadership! Bothell's City Council has ignored our adopted community values and has made dangerous rulings that undermine our development regulations and weaken environmental protections. They will soon revise our Comprehensive Plan - making major decisions regarding traffic and development density that will define Bothell's future.

These difficult economic times require wise use of our tax dollars. But in the past year, the City Council asked residents to raise taxes for a new City Hall (overwhelmingly rejected by voters) while preparing to lay off City employees.

The City Council should listen to its citizens, respect its neighborhoods and businesses, and display sound judgment in spending their tax dollars. I promise to do this for you.

Kara L. Yusen – Nonpartisan

I decided to run for city council because our youngest child is entering first grade and I think that now is the perfect time for me to get involved in local politics. I want to assist Bothell in making our city a great place to live, work and play.

It's been an honor representing you on the Bothell City Council for the last 4 years. Although it has been challenging, much has been accomplished.

From the time I attended Maywood Hills Elementary School, to serving on the City Council, Bothell has grown. As a 35-year resident of Bothell I understand the importance of keeping that character and small town feel - even though we've become a mature city.

Using my energy and experience on your City Council, I'll continue to support our excellent fire and police services, work for arterial road improvements to reduce neighborhood cut-through traffic, and am committed to land use policies that will protect existing single family neighborhoods while creating open space and tree retention.

We have both challenges and opportunities ahead, and I look forward to addressing these issues with input from the community. With your vote, together, we can continue to make a difference.
