Since first elected, I have looked for ways to respect property owner's rights and balance growth without adversely affecting existing neighborhoods. Growth management housing requirements are being met with single family homes and condominiums - not apartments. I support efficient transportation systems such as Shopper Shuttle and commuter rail.

Through work force reduction and more efficiency, Kent's portion of your property tax bill continues to decrease. A small utility tax increase prevented the loss of uniformed Police Officers and Firefighters. Your safety must not be compromised.

I support economic development to grow our economy. By partnering with community stakeholders, we achieve increased value for your tax dollar and enjoy a new ice arena, new ball fields, neighborhood parks, an off leash dog park and a swimming pool.

Your input is important to me. I listen to and work diligently for you. Please honor me with your vote Nov. 4. Thank you.

As taxpayers, we provide the revenue our government spends, therefore proper and responsible spending is essential. Core services such as police and fire, utilities, and transportation must be funded first. Taking care of our needs before spending on what we want should be a priority. Current council members raised water rates 5% a year for 3 years, approved salary increases for themselves and the mayor, laid off workers, and raised all utilities another 1.2%. It's time to hold the line on tax increases and unnecessary spending. Accountability should be the foundation for all government. I understand the importance of attracting new businesses to Kent, the need to relieve traffic congestion and respecting the rights and concerns of property owners. Responding to issues and making decisions which are in your best interest is my most important responsibility. I would be honored to have your vote for Kent City Council.
