April Meetings on 2016 Comprehensive Plan

Committee Briefing – Tuesday, April 5

The King County Council's Transportation, Economy and Environment Committee will receive a briefing on the Executive's transmitted 2016 King County Comprehensive Plan on Tuesday, April 5. The committee meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Council Chambers on the 10th Floor of the King County Courthouse, at 516 3rd Ave, Seattle, WA. This item is #13 on the committee agenda and will include discussion on the following topics:

  • Chapter 1 Regional Planning
  • Chapter 3 Rural Area and Natural Resource Lands
  • Chapter 8 Transportation
  • Chapter 10 Economic Development
  • Development code updates (Proposed Ordinance 2016-0155)
  • Appendix C Transportation and C1 Transportation Needs Report

A written staff report on these topics will be posted to the Council's Comprehensive Plan website on Friday, April 1.

There will be an opportunity for public comment following the briefing. If you are not able to attend in person, the meeting can be viewed on KCTV cable channel 22 or online. Additionally, written public testimony can also be submitted online.

Community Town Hall – Wednesday, April 6

The Council's Committee of the Whole will hold a special evening Town Hall meeting in Ravensdale on Wednesday, April 6, that will focus on public safety and the 2016 Comprehensive Plan. The meeting will be begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Gracie Hansen Community Center at Ravensdale Park (Rock Creek Sports), at 27132 SE Ravensdale Way, Ravensdale, WA. This item is #6 on the committee agenda and the meeting will include the opportunity for public comment following the briefing.


Additional chapters of the transmitted 2016 Comprehensive Plan will be discussed at later committee meetings.
