Striking Amendment and September 6 briefing for 2016 Comprehensive Plan

Council review of the transmitted 2016 King County Comprehensive Plan (KCCP) and the 2016 Real Property Asset Management Plan (RAMP) thus far has included ten preliminary briefings in the Transportation, Economy and Environment (TrEE) Committee, as well as numerous opportunities to submit written or verbal public comment. Based on discussions in Committee, public comments received to-date, and deliberations with the Executive and Councilmembers, the TrEE Committee Chair has issued proposed Striking Amendments to the transmitted 2016 KCCP and the 2016 RAMP.

A briefing in the TrEE Committee on the proposed Striking Amendments is scheduled for Tuesday, September 6. The committee meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Council Chambers on the 10th Floor of the King County Courthouse, at 516 3rd Ave, Seattle, WA. This is currently scheduled as items #5 and #6 on the committee agenda and will include follow-up discussion on the:

  • Striking Amendment to Proposed Ordinance 2016-0155, including the a new version of the proposed 2016 KCCP and technical appendices, changes to the development code updates, and updated land use proposals.
  • Striking Amendment to Proposed Ordinance 2016-0159, which is an updated version of the 2016 RAMP and associated code requirements.

This September 6 briefing will provide a high-level summary of the Striking Amendments in preparation for the scheduled vote on the Striking Amendments, any individual amendments to the Striking Amendments, and the 2016 KCCP and 2016 RAMP in the TrEE Committee on September 20. A written staff report for the briefing has been posted to the Council's Comprehensive Plan website. If you are not able to attend this meeting in person, it can be viewed live on KCTV cable channel 22 or online.

There will be an opportunity for public comment on any aspect of the 2016 Comprehensive Plan during this committee meeting. Online public comments are also welcome at any time, which can be submitted from the home page of the Council's Comprehensive Plan website by clicking on the "Submit online public testimony" button.
