Fundraiser outside of Alki polling site

At Alki Community Center, Kristina Surface works outside of the polls to sell treats as part of a fundraiser for the nearby Alki Elementary. Community members are in agreement that they will miss poll voting. Surface said she's never seen polls so busy. If you make it to the polling place the Banana Chocolate Chunk bread is a good choice.

Inside the polling site, Alki Elementary students learn how voting works and tour the facility. Poll worker Kerm Franks talked to a dozen young people who voted for the first time today. When he arrived in the morning there were at least a dozen voters waiting at the door. He says the "i voted" stickers have been very popular.
