5:22 p.m. Polls picking up on Mercer Island

Erin Boniface, a Partnership in Democracy poll worker pictured right, reports that "Voters are enthusiastic and have been very nice. Many people are depositing their absentee ballots." Erin voted for the first time today, also her first day as a poll worker. The turn out at the Mercer Island Boys and Girls Club has been steady for the last few hours.

Erika Kinno, pollworkder, says many Mercer Island voters bring their kids to the polls to show them what voting is all about.
