NW Natural Yard Days

Go Natural! You can have a yard that's healthy and beautiful!

Northwest Natural Yard Days (NNYD) has completed its FINAL year of discounts! But you can still go natural by practicing natural yard care year round with the help of our retail partners.

For 11 years, NNYD has encouraged residents of King County and surrounding areas to practice natural yard care by purchasing and using natural yard care products. Retailers in your community continue to offer natural yard care products for sale year round.

You can practice natural yard care by mowing with a non-polluting mulch mower (external), grasscycling (PDF, 337 K), and using less toxic pest and weed control and water conserving tools. Ask your local home improvement, nursery or garden store retailer about the natural yard care products like:

  • Mulch-mowers for grasscycling
  • Weed pullers to get rid of weeds and without using herbicides
  • Soaker hoses, water timers and water wands to conserve water
  • Bagged compost, bark mulch and organic fertilizer to build a healthy soil for healthy plants
  • Insecticidal soap to control garden pests without using pesticides

Northwest Natural Yard Days endorses the regional five steps of natural yard care:

  1. Build healthy soil
  2. Plant right for your site
  3. Practice smart watering
  4. Think twice before using pesticides
  5. Practice natural lawn care
