photo of the Teacher's GuideEducators, thank you participating in the Natural Connections education program. This website is a supplemental source of information for the topics covered in the hour-long "Natural Connections" television program that aired on KOMO ABC 4 (external link).

The King County Department of Natural Resources and KOMO ABC 4 are pleased to present this important program about the Earth's natural connections and how they are affected by our individual actions. This page will allow educators to download the Teacher's Guide and student lesson plans.

Students should be encouraged to visit this website to complete lessons and to find out more information on the subjects discussed on the television program. New topics related to the program will also be introduced and additional web links are found throughout this site to allow students to explore a topic in-depth.

Most of the information students will need to complete the lessons and projects are available on this website. The activities and lessons ask students to think critically, research, write, and present - skills required by the Essential Academic Learning Requirements. We encourage you to use these lessons with your students.

Thank you for your interest and we hope you and your students will enjoy the lessons we have provided here.

Lyrics to
TOO MUCH STUFF
By Ken Morrison

Chorus:
TOO MUCH STUFF!
TOO MUCH STUFF!
Won't somebody tell me when enough is enough?
Can't we find a better way?
It's not all that tough,
We've simply got to get away
from TOO MUCH STUFF!

Paper, plastic, bottles, cans
TVs, RVs, mini vans
CDs, PCs, and may I include
too much SLOW traffic,
too much FAST food

How much can you accumulate?
And who's keepin' score?
When it's wall to wall clutter
from the ceiling to the floor.
And once you've filled up
every room
and every corridor,
just put it all in storage
and go get some more!

TOO MUCH STUFF…
TOO MUCH STUFF!
Won't somebody tell me when enough is enough?
The tough get goin'
when the goin' gets tough
but we're not goin' anywhere with
TOO MUCH STUFF!
