Shingles in Paving PartnersPaving Demonstration Advisory GroupPublic agencies and private businesses form the membership of the Shingles in Paving Demonstration Advisory Group (PDF, 195 K). The advisory group provided valuable input on the design and development of the paving demonstration. King County Department of Transportation, Road Services DivisionThe King County Roads Services Division joined the LinkUp program as a partner in the paving demonstration. The Division worked with LinkUp, Washington State Department of Transportation, and the advisory group to plan and implement the paving demonstration on one of its roads. It served on the advisory group and led the development of the study design, managed the paving demonstration from contracting through installation, and provided testing for materials and pavement. The Division will continue to monitor the pavement through 2012. Seattle Public UtilitiesSeattle Public Utilities (external), in addition to serving on the project advisory group, provided funding to the paving demonstration to support facilitation of the advisory group, as well as the development of the hot mix asphalt design. Washington State Department of TransportationAlso represented on the advisory group, the Washington State Department of Transportation (external) provided technical expertise as well as laboratory services and equipment to test and evaluate recycled asphalt shingles, hot mix asphalt, and the final pavement.
