Environmental Purchasing
Environmental purchasing means buying products that use less energy, are more durable, less toxic, recyclable, reduce waste or are made from recycled materials. For ideas on how your school can do more environmental purchasing, review the ideas and tips listed in the environmental purchasing criteria. There is one set of criteria for schools and another for school districts. Schools and school districts can select environmental purchasing as one of the optional categories in either level two or level three of the King County Green Schools Program. Completing the environmental purchasing criteria fulfills one of the requirements toward receiving recognition as a level two or level three King County Green School or Green School District.
