Environmental Education

Environmental Education

Environmental education provides students and staff with opportunities to learn about and consider solutions to environmental problems. Environmental education can occur in the classroom and through extra-curricular activities.

For ideas on how your school or district can expand and improve environmental education, review the ideas and tips listed in the environmental education criteria. There is one set of criteria for schools and another for school districts.

Schools and school districts can select environmental education as one of the optional categories in either level two or level three of the King County Green Schools Program. Completing the environmental education criteria will fulfill one of the requirements toward receiving recognition as a level two or level three King County Green School or Green School District. See how the program works.
