- The event was attended by over 120 employees from 11 King County divisions.
- The Executive provided the keynote address (YouTube)
prioritizing green building and its role in implementing the King County Strategic Plan. In addition, the Executive emceed the presentation of 2011 Excellence in Building Green Awards to recognize King County employees and their work on a wide range of county buildings and infrastructure projects that exemplify excellence in green building and sustainable development.
- King County staff learned more about new green building and operation techniques.
- Attendees heard about collaborative ideas and projects from fellow King County project managers and innovators.
- Tours were provided of the sustainable development elements of the Brightwater Treatment Plant including treatment facilities, education and community center, and restored habitat areas.
- Sustainable materials corner offered green material samples and resources.
