King County Green Building Tools and Resources

Toolkit2 iconKing County provides green-building technical assistance through the GreenTools Program, and leads by example through the Green Building Ordinance.

King County's GreenTools program helps builders, residents, businesses and governments create and sustain green buildings and developments. The GreenTools Team can help users with technical assistance, grants, hands-on training, and information to find locally produced, high quality sustainable building materials and resources.

King County's Green Building Ordinance encourages green building practices in all King County building projects and directs county offices and departments to incorporate the use of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED™) green building rating system. Additional King County resources include the Sustainable Infrastructure Scorecard and Operations and Maintenance Guidelines.
