Tree-Cycling

Christmas tree

It's never too late (or early!) to explore alternatives to Christmas trees and holiday decorations. Consider turning your Christmas tree into evergreen habitat with King County Parks and Swansons Nursery.

If you do have a tree leftover from the holidays, give it a new life as wood chips or compost! And, you’ll help reduce greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change.

  • Curbside pickup and City-sponsored events: Place your tree on the curb for collection with your regular yard waste. Select your city from the menu below to contact your hauler for details or to visit your City's website for tree-cycling events.

  • Private and public facilities: View the tree-cycling/yard waste recycling options listed on the What Do I Do With…? website or the Tree Recycling Options flier (PDF, 116 KB).
