Tree-Cycling
By recycling your Christmas tree, you’ll give it a new life as wood chips or compost! And, you’ll help reduce greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change.
- Curbside pickup: Place your tree on the curb for collection with your regular yard waste. Select your city from the menu below to contact your hauler for details and restrictions.
Garbage & Recycling
- City-sponsored events: View the calendar below to see if your city is planning a Christmas tree collection event.
- Fundraising events: Many community groups sponsor Christmas tree-cycling fundraising events. For a small donation, they will deliver your tree to a commercial recycler. Look for fliers in your neighborhood during the holiday season. By recycling at these events, you can support a worthy cause while helping the environment.
- Private and public facilities: View the tree-cycling/yard waste recycling options listed on the What Do I Do With…? website or the Tree Recycling Options flier (PDF, 167 K).
