Proposed Changes to the King County Solid Waste Division’s Waste Acceptance Rule

Background

The King County Solid Waste Division is proposing updates to its Waste Acceptance Rule (Rule). This Rule specifies what solid wastes are accepted, not accepted, or accepted with conditions at King County transfer stations, drop boxes, and at the Cedar Hills Regional Landfill.

Updates to the Rule, which was last updated in 2005, include changes to websites, phone numbers, proposed and existing acceptance practices, and changes to align the Rule with changes in state law.

Public comment period: the Solid Waste Division is accepting comments from the public on its proposed changes to the Waste Acceptance Rule in accordance with King County Code Chapter 2.98. The Solid Waste Division will consider all comments received during the 45-day public comment period before the Public Rule is adopted.
