About one-third of medicines sold to households in Washington state every year never get used. Follow these tips for proper disposal, and addressing the overall problem:

  • Learn about where you can take unwanted medications (external) and how collection can potentially be made easier (external) for the public.
  • Find out about the risks (external) from improper storage or disposal of unwanted drugs.
  • Visit all of the Take Back Your Meds (external) coalition’s extensive, up-to-date resources, and get updates on their Facebook page (external).
