Grants
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) assessment grants (external link) are available to municipalities. EPA cleanup grants (external link) are available to municipalities and nonprofit organizations. Private individuals and businesses are not eligible for grants.
Assessment Grants
- Assessment grants (external link) of $200,000 are available from EPA. The Brownfields Program can help access grant funds by applying to EPA on behalf of projects or assisting others apply directly.
- Municipalities are eligible and may apply directly to or through King County with help from the Brownfields Program.
- Private individuals and businesses and nonprofit organizations are not eligible for assessment grants.
Cleanup Grants
- Cleanup grants (external link) of $200,000 are available from EPA. The Brownfields Program can help access grant funds by applying to EPA on behalf of projects or assisting others apply directly. A 20 % cost share is required. for cleanup grants
- Municipalities and nonprofit organizations are eligible. These entities must apply directly to EPA (external) but can obtain application assistance from the Brownfields Program.
- Private individuals and businesses are not eligible for cleanup grants.
