Advisory Committees

The King County Solid Waste Division staffs two advisory committees:

The King County Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC) and the Metropolitian Solid Waste Management Advisory Committee (MSWMAC) advise the Executive and King County Council on solid waste issues and decisions affecting county residents and the services they receive.

SWAC

SWAC members are appointed by the Executive and confirmed by the King County Council. SWAC members represent the diverse interests of residents, waste management companies, the recycling industry, public interest groups, labor, local elected officials, recyclable markets, and manufacturers located in King County.

MSWMAC

MSWMAC comprises staff and elected officials from the cities that participate in the county's regional solid waste system. MSWMAC members are appointed by their respective cities.
