Dear Neighbors,

With summer in full swing and the 4th of July holiday around the corner, now is a good time to get out and enjoy the long days and warm weather. Fortunately, South King County is home to an extensive system of hiking and biking trails and a variety of public parks. In this e-newsletter you will find information about local public trail systems and parks operated by King County. Click on the links for more information about each of the parks, including directions, parking and facility information.

These are your trails and parks…funded and supported by your county tax dollars. Explore and enjoy them! As South King County continues to grow and change, it is more important than ever to build and maintain parks, trails and open spaces to help preserve our quality of life.

I encourage you to read below and contact me with any questions or concerns related to our county park system or any other county matter.

It is a pleasure and an honor to serve you.

Sincerely,

Julia Patterson

Become a Parks & Trails Ambassador

A new Parks & Trails Ambassador program will increase the sense of community for regional park & trail users by providing a recognizable and friendly face of King County Parks. Parks & Trails Ambassadors will provide a year-round presence on King County's major regional trails and in parks to provide the public with information about parks, trails and other natural resource amenities. They will also serve as a resource to educate the public about environmental stewardship practices, and alert Parks staff to any problems that need attention.

Please join us at an Open House for more information and to apply to become a King County Parks & Trails Ambassador:

Thursday, June 29th, 6:30 - 8:00 pm
