Vote to increase sales tax delayed a week

Dear Neighbor:
Over the last several weeks I’ve received a lot of correspondence from constituents voicing their concerns over the proposed sales tax increase. The Council considered the legislation this last Monday. However, the final vote was deferred until next Monday (May 24).
Today, the Seattle Times ran an Op-Ed I wrote. In it I state my concern for raising a regressive tax during a major economic recession. You can read it by clicking on the link below:
