Dockton Road Preservation

Road Alert
You are invited to a public meeting about Dockton Road S.W. and seawall, on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, from 6 - 8 p.m. at McMurray Middle School, 9329 S.W. Cemetary Road.

Project No.:  300208
Project limits:  Dockton Rd SW - SW Ellisport Road to Portage Way SW
Current phase: Study
Project type:  Safety
Thomas Bros. Map No.:  683h4

Project description

This project will study the Dockton Road and the deteriorating seawall.

Why is King County doing this project?

Seawall has deteriorated to the point where regular, small scale maintenance repairs are no longer effective nor permitted by environmental regulating agencies. Failure of any portion of any seawall would result in closure of roadway adjacent to seawall.

Status as of November 19, 2009

Phase I: Pre-Design and the Concept Development Report (CDR) are currently in progress. King County Road Services Division and the consultant contracted for the project are in the process of considering a full range of alternatives for improvement of Dockton Road and the seawall between Portage Way SW and SW Ellisport Rd, from no road to options on rebuilding the road and sewall. Public outreach activities are ongoing.
