Project description

The Avondale ITS Phase II project includes design and installation of ITS improvements that include traffic signal interconnect with remote operation and monitoring capability, signal controller and cabinet change out, travel time information equipment, cameras posted to the King County My Commute website, and variable message signs.

Why is King County doing this project?

This road segment ranks high on the King County’s ITS strategic plan due to traffic volumes and high accident locations. The project completes the Avondale corridor ITS project and gives King County and the City of Redmond the ability to control and monitor traffic flow along Avondale Road between Woodinville Duvall Road and SR 520.
