Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013 - West Snoqualmie Valley Road Northeast between Northeast 100th Street and Northeast Novelty Hill Road opened ahead of schedule at 4 p.m.

Project description

Slope reconstruction with quarry spalls to stabilize roadway embankment and replacement of culvert crossing. Full depth pavement repair, north bound lane, including over-excavation of underlying soils and installation of stiff geosynthetic, geogrid at subgrade prior to paving. Repair of pavement exhibiting cracking by removal and replacement.

Why is King County doing this project?

A portion of the northbound lane and shoulder has dropped and sunk approximately six inches affecting approximately 425 feet of the road. The roadway is alongside the Snoqualmie River. The northbound lane is closed leaving only one lane open to through traffic.

Project management phase:  Construction completed.

Status as of April 10, 2014

The Contractor started construction on Monday July 8, 2013. West Snoqualmie Valley Road NE was reopened Tuesday August 6th, 2013.
