Metro and partners offering commute makeovers

Price of gas and traffic congestion got you tied up in knots? Why not get a commute makeover?

King County Metro Transit and its partners in the downtown transit tunnel project are offering individualized planning sessions to help commuters find their best travel options – whether by bus, train, carpool, vanpool, or bike. Along with your customized information, you get incentives and the tools you need to get started on a new commute.

Starting this week and continuing through the entire month of October, you can get personal assistance at one of several “Plan Your Commute” stations located throughout downtown Seattle. The sessions are drop-in, and offer one-on-one advice from an expert trip planner.

Look for the “Plan Your Commute” tables at the following downtown Seattle locations through Oct. 28:

  • Mondays – Starbucks, Third Avenue and Spring Street, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Tuesdays – Pacific Place main floor, 600 Pine Street, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Wednesdays – The Transportation Connection at Rainier Square, enter on University Street between Fourth and Fifth avenues, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Thursdays – Bank of America Tower, Second Floor atrium across from Tully’s, Fifth Avenue and Cherry Street, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Fridays – Seattle Public Library, Fifth Avenue lobby, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There will also be extra sessions at these locations on these dates:

  • Uwajimaya – Fifth Avenue and Weller Street, Thursday, Sept. 29 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Macy’s – (by first floor elevators) Fourth Avenue and Pine Street, Thursday, Sept. 22, Wednesday, Sept. 28 and Thursday, Oct. 6, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Wells Fargo – Third Avenue and Madison Street, Tuesday, Oct. 4 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • International District – East side of Union Station between Tully’s and Starbucks, 5th & Weller, Wednesday, Sept. 21 and Wednesday, Oct. 5 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

For more information on these sessions, visit either the tunnel project website or Metro Online,  and go to the “Tools To Keep You Moving” section.
