University Bridge closed to nighttime
marine traffic for next two weekends

King County Metro Transit will be working on the overhead trolley wires across the University Bridge for the next two weekends, which means the drawbridge cannot open to large marine traffic between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, June 3-4 and June 10-11.

The bridge is located on Eastlake Avenue in Seattle, immediately south of the University of Washington. The span will be open to vehicular traffic during the project, but there will be sporadic lane closures during the overnight hours and into the morning. The Metro crews will adjust their schedule on June 11 during commencement services at the UW to accommodate the expected increase in bridge traffic.

Metro will operate diesel buses instead of trolleys across the bridge on both weekends, but bus service will not be disrupted.
