will feature career opportunities that are available right now, as well as
explain transportation options to job sites, at a Transportation Jobs Fair
hosted by WorkSource Renton on Thursday, June 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Transportation Jobs Fair will offer prospective employees a unique
opportunity to meet and discuss job openings and required skills with employers
and recruiters representing transportation-oriented companies throughout the
region. This is one of the largest job fairs focusing on transportation
industries to be held in the Puget Sound area.
In addition to King County Metro Transit, the list of companies scheduled to
attend the jobs fair includes United Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Swiss Port,
United Parcel Service, Washington State Department of Transportation, Kelly
Services, Puget Sound Trucking, AirServ, and accessible services contractors
ATC and Hopelink.
Because a lack of personal transportation is an obstacle for many job
seekers, transportation agencies will also be on hand to provide information
about transit, rideshare and other services that may help prospective employees
travel to their new jobs. In addition, free shuttle transportation to the jobs
fair will be provided from four locations: WorkSource Rainier at 2531 Rainier
Ave South; DSHS Rainier CSO at 3600 South Graham Street; the NewHolly Community
Center at 7054 32nd Avenue South and the Park Lake Homes Career
Development Center at 9800 8th Avenue Southwest. You can also take
Metro Transit to the Jobs Fair on route 140 serving the Renton Transit Center,
the South Renton Park & Ride and the Southcenter Transit Center.
