Three times a year, Metro Transit
updates its routes to improve service and keep up with the changing needs of
transit passengers. The next service change will go into effect on Saturday,
Jan. 31, but should involve only minor schedule adjustments for most bus
passengers.
The updated schedules are available in new green timetables. There has been
a slight delay in the distribution of some of those timetables. They are
currently available on most buses, posted at bus stops, and starting Friday,
Jan. 30 will be available online.
Holiday schedules will be a bit different for Metro in 2004, beginning with
President’s Day on Feb. 16. On weekday holidays, most routes will be on a
Sunday schedule, but there could be supplemental service on some routes.
Passengers should be sure to check the specific schedule for their route ahead
of each holiday.
Passengers can also visit Metro's
Online Trip Planner to plan trips between specific points. Enter a travel
date on or after Jan. 31 for trip plans that incorporate any schedule changes.
There is also a new online feature for
point-to-point
schedules. It allows passengers to create a custom schedule between two
locations during a given time range.
