Help plan transit service for
Rainier Valley & Broadway

King County Metro Transit is looking for people to share and review ideas on how to improve transit service in the Rainier Valley and along Broadway to the University District.

Metro is seeking approximately 15 transit riders and community members to serve on its Rainier Valley/Broadway Sounding Board. The sounding board will begin meeting in mid-September, and hold ten meetings over eight months. Sounding board members are also expected to attend two public meetings.

Board members will help Metro transit planners develop ideas for updating bus service in the fall of 2004. The routes that will be reviewed include: 7 Local; 7 Express; 9 along Rainier Avenue; 38 in north Beacon Hill; 39 Local and Express in Seward Park; 42 and 48 along Martin Luther King Jr. Way; and Route 60 between Broadway and North Beacon Hill.

Anyone who lives, works, or uses transit in this geographic area is eligible to submit an application to serve on the sounding board. The application deadline is Thursday, July 31.

For more information or an application, contact Pat Cleary, KCDOT community relations, at 206-684-1142 (voice), 206-684-1682 (TTY); or by email at pat.cleary@metrokc.gov.
