The King County Road Services
Division will begin work Monday, June 23 on a project to improve the
intersection of Sahalee Way with State Route 202 (Redmond-Fall City Road).
The work involves lengthening the left-turn pocket from Sahalee Way to SR
202. Crews will also make adjustments to improve the operation of the traffic
signal at the intersection, and provide a dedicated signal light for residents
on 208th Avenue Northeast.
The work is expected to take 45 days to complete, and traffic disruptions
will be intermittent.
This project was developed in conjunction with the improvements planned by
the Washington State Department of
Transportation in 2004 to widen SR 202, between State Route 520 and Sahalee
Way. When the state's project is complete, Sahalee Way Northeast will be
re-striped to accommodate five lanes at the intersection, including two
left-turn lanes to SR 202. It will also provide eight-foot paved shoulders from
Northeast 50th Street to SR 202.
