The King County Road Services
Division will host a drop-in open house meeting to update the community
about plans to replace the Tolt Bridge near Carnation.
The open house will be held Wednesday, April 30, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at
Tolt Middle School in the school commons, 3740 Tolt Ave., Carnation.
The county is proposing to replace the Tolt Bridge on Northeast Tolt Hill
Road between State Route 203 and West Snoqualmie River Road Northeast. The
proposal includes building a replacement bridge on a new alignment spanning the
Snoqualmie River.
The current bridge was constructed in 1922, and suffers from general
deterioration. The bridge is increasingly costly to maintain, and has some
safety deficiencies due to an awkward road alignment.
The public is invited to attend the open house to learn about progress made
to date, and to see final alignment and design details. Construction is
tentatively scheduled to begin in 2004.
