County wants opinions on potential Brickyard transit-oriented development project

The King County Department of Transportation will host a meeting this week about potential development at the Brickyard Park and Ride lot in Juanita.

The open-house style meeting will be held:

Thursday, June 13th
5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Northshore Public Health Center
10808 N.E. 145th St., Bothell

King County has successfully combined housing and commercial development at several of its park and ride lots and transit centers, including the Overlake Park and Ride in Redmond. The goal of Transit Oriented Development is to encourage transit use and cut down on congestion throughout the region. For more information, please visit the Transit-Oriented Development Web site.

Those interested in the Brickyard project are invited to drop in anytime during the open house to pick up information and talk to project staff. There will be some development concepts on display, and staff will be accepting public comments on the ideas.

The Brickyard Park and Ride lot is located at 15530 Juanita-Woodinville Way Northeast at Interstate 405 and Northeast 160th Street. It currently has 247 parking spaces on site, but the county also owns undeveloped land adjacent to the lot.

For more information about the meeting, call Pat Cleary at (206) 684-1142 (voice), (206) 684-1682 (TTY), or (206) 263-3489 (fax); or email her at pat.cleary@metrokc.gov.
