King County set to begin bridge construction on SE Jones Road

aerial view of Cedar Mountain BridgeThe King County Roads Services Division will begin replacing the Cedar Mountain Bridge during the week of May 13. The 52-year-old bridge, located where SE Jones Road intersects with SR-169 will be replaced with a new structure that will include a left-turn lane and an 8-foot shoulder to better accommodate pedestrians and bicyclists.

While the bridge will remain open during most of the construction period, motorists may experience periodic traffic delays. King County will make every effort to keep disruptions to a minimum. A truck detour will be provided as necessary.

The project is expected to take approximately one year to complete and has an estimated budget of $7.4 million.
