The newly renovated Aurora Village Transit Center reopens on Saturday, April
13th with 12 bus bays and new improvements that will make transit connections
faster, easier and more convenient. Riders will enjoy improved protection from
the weather, more seating, and bicycle racks.
Since 1983, North King County residents have relied upon the Transit Center
located on North 200th Street, just east of Aurora Avenue North. It was one of
Metro’s first transit centers. It closed in November 2001 for a complete
renovation and expansion.
King County Metro Transit routes 302, 317, 341, 342, 358, 370, and 943 will
serve the new center, as well as paratransit service, and Community Transit
routes 610, 620, 621 and 630. For more information about bus service, check out
the Metro Online Web site.
King County worked with the city of Shoreline and Community Transit of
Snohomish County to make the transit center a good fit with its neighbors. The
project also includes artwork by Stuart Nakamura that is incorporated into
several safety features at the transit center.
Once the transit center opens on April 13, the temporary bus stops used
during the construction period will be closed.
