County hosts open house to discuss 208th Street improvements

The King County Department of Transportation will host a community open house Thursday, June 7, to describe projects designed to improve traffic safety along Southeast 208th Street near Panther Lake.

The meeting will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Panther Lake Elementary School Library, 20831 108th Ave. S.E., Kent.

Location map of SE 208th St.During the open house, Road Services staff will discuss several upcoming projects and respond to questions from the audience. Planned projects along 208th Street include:

  • Constructing a left-turn lane at 98th Place South;
  • Designing a left-turn lane and sight-distance improvements at 105th Place to be constructed in 2003;
  • Installing flashing lights west of 105th Place Southeast that warn of traffic ahead;
  • Restricting cross-traffic turns near the Panther Lake Center east of 108th Avenue Southeast; and
  • Widening the intersection of 208th Street and 116th Avenue Southeast.
