News ReleaseRelease date: November 13, 2000 King County Seeks Citizens to Serve on Two Transit Advisory CommitteesThe King County Department of Transportation is now recruiting citizens to serve on two advisory groups, the Transit Advisory Committee and the Accessible Services Advisory Committee, charged with helping the county improve transit services. The Transit Advisory Committee helps King County improve transit services and programs by advising Metro Transit staff, the Metro Transit General Manager, the King County Executive, the King County Council, local jurisdictions and subarea transportation forums on transit issues and policies. The committee has 15 members who live in King County and reflect its diversity. Most members are bus riders. Regular meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month in downtown Seattle. The Accessible Services Advisory Committee focuses on improving regular and paratransit services for elderly people and people with disabilities. The committee has up to 15 members who live in King County and are elderly, people with disabilities or advocates for people with disabilities. Regular meetings are held at 9 a.m. on the second Saturday of each month in downtown Seattle. Nominations will also be accepted.
