July is the peak time for summer fun in the Puget Sound area, as people flock to fairs, festivals and fireworks. But battling traffic can suck the fun out of any event, which is why King County Metro Transit provides regular and special bus service to some favorite summertime venues and favorite recreational spots.
Taking the bus to a Mariners game this summer? It's a great way to beat the traffic. There is even a video to tell you about the post-game customer loading spots at Safeco Field and other details about the service. More information can also be found at Metro Online. Want to ride Metro and take your bike into downtown Seattle using the bus tunnel? Get information online about loading and unloading bikes on buses. You can also watch the video below for information about where you can load and unload bikes in the bus tunnel.
It may be the only bike/pedestrian path of its kind in King County, water runs right through the asphalt for a smoother and drier ride. Check out this video to see this marvel of asphalt engineering currently in use in the Issaquah Highlands neighborhood.
Almost everybody is outside more during the summer months. Notice some dangerous drivers in your neighborhood or unsafe conditions around the block? If you live in unincorporated King County, contact our Neighborhood Traffic Safety program for help. Click on the video below to see some of the features of the Neighborhood Traffic Safety program.
Check out DOT Flix for more transportation videos. Text transcripts for all featured videos will be provided soon. |
