Dear Voter: My name is Vicki Baggette. My husband, two daughters and I have lived in Sammamish for 12 years. I have been a strong advocate for schools and children through PTSA partnerships. We have tackled some tough issues such as overcrowded schools, drug and alcohol awareness, traffic, minimal youth activity sites, and business relations with youth. Recognizing that our serious community problems were a result of poor growth management, I felt compelled to work on the Pro-Incorporation campaign. By imposing a Building Moratorium, we will be able to implement guidelines to resolve road, parks and safety issues. My work experience with United Way and the Federal Emergency Management Agency equip me with strong public relations and management skills. There will be no stealth agendas or special interest deals. I have the experience to deal with the tough issues -- excessive growth, inadequate roads, lack of parks and open spaces, and declining water quality of our local lakes. I strongly favor a moratorium on growth in the new City of Sammamish. I am a fiscal conservative committed to planning a city government that will provide effective, efficient services to the taxpayer at a minimum cost. I will ensure Sammamish has first rate Police and Emergency services. I will also ensure an orderly, common sense approach to implementing the city government. I am a respected leader in our law enforcement community with over 22 years experience. I have managed large government offices, complex law enforcement operations and programs at the local, regional and national levels. I served as a Senior Policy Analyst in the Bush White House.
