![]() June 2, 2008 Renton candidate first to kick off candidate filing todayLeRoy McCullough officially kicked off candidate filing week this morning by filing for office in person at election headquarters in Renton. The superior court judge candidate is among 50 candidates that have filed with the King County Elections office. Visit http://www.kingcounty.gov/elections at noon and by 6 p.m. daily through the end of the week to follow candidate filings. The deadline to file for office is 4:30 p.m. Friday, June 6. Mail-in filings must include a notarized declaration of candidacy with the appropriate filing fee and must be in the hands of King County Election officials by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, June 6. Late applications will not be accepted. Secure online filing is available 24 hours a day, ending at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, June 6. No credit card numbers will be stored and all payment information is encrypted with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates, a protocol for transmitting data securely over the internet. A lot drawing will be conducted on Friday, June 6 at 5 p.m. to determine the order of appearance candidates on the ballot. The public is invited to the drawing, which will be held at King County Elections headquarters’ new location at 919 SW Grady Way in Renton. Candidate Filing Resources
