Special Election certified

The King County Canvassing Board this morning certified the May 16 Special Election.  A total of 36,061 ballots were cast in the election. Final certified results are available at http://your.kingcounty.gov/elections/200605/results.asp.

Breakdown of the ballot cast in the May 16, 2006 Special Election:

• 30,898 absentee ballots tabulated to date (85.7 percent of the total votes cast)
• 5,163 poll ballots, of which 117 were provisional ballots (14.3 percent of the total votes cast)

The next King County election will be the statewide primary scheduled for Tuesday, September 19, 2006.
