Sept. 26, 2005 Election result update

King County Elections today counted 20,852 additional ballots bringing the total number of absentee ballots counted to 229,591.

Of the 601,967 absentee ballots issued, 241,266 or 40.08 percent have been returned.

Election officials caution the public from calling close races until all absentee ballots are received and provisional ballots are counted.

Voters who cast a provisional ballot can check the status of their ballot online at http://your.kingcounty.gov/elections/ballots/provisionalballot/ballotlookup.aspx or call 1-206-296-8683.

Election officials will continue to process and count absentee and provisional ballots daily through Friday, Sept. 30th.

The next absentee ballot count will be issued tomorrow, Sept. 27 at 4:30 p.m.
