Media advisory:
King County Elections media office opens

King County Elections has established a media room at the King County Administration Building to assist reporters and other media throughout Election Day. Staff will be available to assist with information and requests for interviews with key Elections officials, including Director of Elections Dean Logan.

"We've been working very hard over the past several months to implement improvements that directly address the problems we found in the 2004 elections," said Logan. "King County is committed to working to restore voter confidence in the elections process and its results."

Call any of the numbers above to schedule interviews with Logan or to make arrangements to meet him at polling sites he will be touring during the day. For tours or assistance at the Mail Ballot Operating Satellite (MBOS) located at 3901 First Ave. S., where ballots are being counted please call Hillary Karasz at 206-663-2729 (pager) or 206-423-2542 (cell).

The first media briefing will take place at 9 p.m. at the Media Briefing Room, King County Administration Building, 2nd Floor, 500 Fourth Ave. Enter from Jefferson or James streets. Logan will provide a report on early elections results and respond to questions.
