Nov.16: updated ballot count

King County Elections today counted 3,581 ballots, of which 2,229 were valid provisional ballots. Election officials project an estimated 1,450 absentee and provisional ballots remain to be counted, the majority of which will be provisional ballots.

Of the 646,537 absentee ballots issued, 566,291, or 87.59 percent, have been returned.

Ballots counted through today include those received through Nov. 15.

A mandatory recount will be issued by the Secretary of State if the difference between two candidates is less than ½ of one percent and less than 2000 votes.

King County Elections will release its final ballot count of all remaining provisional and absentee ballots tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov.17 at 4 p.m.
