A provisional ballot is cast by a voter whose name does not appear on our list
of registered voters at an accessible voting center. Provisional ballots are processed after election
officials verify the voter is eligible to cast a ballot, a labor-intensive
process which generally takes between five and nine days to complete. Once
verified, the ballot is added to the official count.
This provisional ballot lookup allows voters to check the status of their ballot
the Monday after the election until the election is certified. Certification
occurs 15 days after a primary or special election and 21 days after the
general election. For more information, call 206-296-VOTE (8683) or e-mail
voter.services@kingcounty.gov.
If you cannot provide the reference number from your ballot envelope, contact
King County Elections at 206-296-VOTE.
Access to information
regarding an individual provisional ballot is restricted to the individual who
cast that ballot. Any personal information collected through the system is secure
and confidential.
