We choose to live in Issaquah because the quality of life is excellent. We have great police and fire service, wonderful parks and natural amenities and dedicated employees. Yet because our community is so attractive, we have experienced tremendous growth. Growth that has provided us with jobs, consumer choices and perhaps most noticed - traffic.

The same mountains, creeks and lakes we enjoy constrain traffic and make improvements very costly and potentially damaging to neighborhoods, parks, schools and the natural environment. I am committed to transportation improvements that will work for all residents of Issaquah.

We are facing financial pressures that will impact some service levels. We are also finding that adjoining communities such as Klahanie would like to be annexed into Issaquah to receive the services we enjoy. We must be very careful about annexations so we do not further erode our level of service or raise taxes and fees.
