COUNCIL POS. NO. 02, 4 YR TERM

Candidates:

Cindy Honcoop — Nonpartisan

Bothell plans transportation projects, raises funds, and works with multiple agencies to decrease congestion on our roads and minimize impacts to residents. By serving on both the Eastside Transportation Partnership and the City Council Transportation Caucus, I have the experience needed to keep the interests of Bothell and its citizens moving forward.

We are losing the small town feel and natural qualities that make Bothell such a desirable place to live. My priority is to continue working for land use policies that are fair and balanced for neighborhoods, business, the environment and wildlife.

The city continues to balance the budget. A slow economy has caused financial setbacks, forcing city personnel lay-offs and program cuts to maintain a balanced budget. I support public safety being maintained at current levels, and maintaining a balanced budget. All resources must be exhausted before asking the public for financial support.

  Please re-elect Cindy Honcoop.

Bothell is our home; its character greatly shapes the quality of our lives. I support the well-planned growth that Bothell's citizens and past leaders agreed to when forming Bothell's Comprehensive Plan. I oppose current Council direction that loosens development regulations and environmental protections. It's reckless and shortsighted, leading to a more crowded, intense, and congested future for Bothell. The Council is supporting policies that accelerate residential development, but without corresponding growth in businesses. Their actions will further burden City finances, resulting in higher taxes and fees, or service cuts, for Bothell's residents. It's time for a change in leadership. You can trust me to serve the broad public interest over special interests. You can rely on me for sensible, financially sound solutions.
