As a longtime Bellevue resident, I've worked with outstanding neighbors, local businesses and officials on issues ranging from revitalizing a neighborhood shopping center to supporting local youth. As a successful freeholder candidate in the Bellevue charter vote, I supported retaining Bellevue's form of government because it is working well for our city. I helped to streamline local government as co-chair of the One City campaign. As a graduate of Advance Bellevue leadership training and a labor negotiator for local government, I have developed a strong understanding of the challenges facing our government in these tough economic times.

If elected, I will support: (1) building and maintaining strong neighborhoods;  (2) continuing Bellevue's record of keeping taxes low while providing excellent services; (3) continuing to work regionally and locally on our traffic problems; and (4) promoting economic vitality which supports our quality of life throughout the City.

I would be honored to serve as your representative on the City Council and I ask for your vote.

I am in my seventh year and second term as Chair of Bellevue's Transportation Commission. In my 14 years of volunteering for Bellevue, I have actively participated in: transportation-related associations, citizen advisory groups, neighborhood traffic mitigation issues and over 200 community open houses and related public hearings. My direct experience and understanding of Bellevue's neighborhoods and our City's government will serve me exceedingly well in representing Bellevue's citizens as an effective Member of the City Council.

I have worked tirelessly to address Bellevue's continued traffic and transportation problems, as well as the ongoing needs and protection of the neighborhoods. I have long believed in active involvement in my community. I believe, too, in a balance between the needs of the neighborhoods, including my own, the needs of the business community - whose continued success benefits the entire community - and a responsible city government. DEDICATED AND EXPERIENCED!
